My three year old refused to sleep in her bed claiming it was scary after sleeping in it just fine for three months with no complaints. We took the bed apart and now she sleeps on the mattress on the floor and again she was fine with it for a week and suddenly she won't sleep anymore. We've been to the doctor and all I got was a scolding for 'letting my daughter stay awake that late' Does anyone have any advice? I'm desperate here....I need real sleep and so does she.

Does she use a nightlight? Also u could make her room cool like adding glow and the dark stars on her ceiling and walls. Any stuffed animals that shes close to help too. Or even one of those nature sound cds might help.

Have u tried sleeping in the same room with her for a few nights? Maybe that would help. It sounds like something is bothering her at night. Maybe you could really wear her out one day just lots of activities so shes so tired that she hopefully stays in her room all night then the next morning you could say what a big girl that she was sleeping in her room all night.

It didn't help....I don't remember the last time I had a good nights sleep. This is stressing us both out and I cry a lot now. I also want to rip my hair out and it's made me irritable......it's killing me....

She does use a nightlight. And she drags as many stuffed animals in bed with her as she can fit. I haven't really thought about those star things. I know I enjoyed them as a child. Thanks I'll definitely look into those.
