my almost 1 and a half year old daughter never had any intrest in pacifiers, instead she started sucking her thumb. She sucks it all the time and sometimes quite forcefully. she has a blister looking wound on the back of her most often sucked thumb that will not heal because its always in her mouth! the dr said it wil heal if left dry for a while and that eventually she will allow it to, but its impossible to keep it dry when its always in her mouth, and it looks quite uncomfortable.. I cant keep a band aid on it because she could end up chokeing on it so im not sure how to help her.

is it possible to wrap it with white gauze you can buy it the drugstore in the first aid isle. hospitals use this all the time, i sure you've seen it. You can wrap her thumb and tape it. It will be hard to slip off into her mouth because her thumb wont be able to fit after its wrapped.

Good luck
