My daughter is 10 and has been having tics for a few years now. Started with eye blinking. Took her to the Dr and he said they'd go away and not to worry about it. Well now she's 10 and they are noticeably worse. Im booked to go to a psychologist next week and hoping they can help her. I dont know what to do.
The latest thing I've noticed is during bed time she can't sleep and she always complains of a tummy ache. Last night I let her sleep with me as it calms her down but I could feel her tummy having these spasms all on their own. She starts to shiver too. Once she's next to me and I caress her she's able to fall asleep with no problem. She also grinds her teeth a lot.
Has anyone else experienced this? I am do worried about her. She just wants these tics to go away. We're lucky that she has some good friends at school so no one teases her.
Tics that she has at the moment are facial expressions eyes widening. Her neck goes upwards sometimes she flinched her legs and arms too. Also there's small vocal sounds that come and go.
Her dad and I separated 3 years ago but he moved out of home 6 months ago and I've noticed they've gotten worse. Shes not allergic to any foods. Shes not on a special diet. Should she be?
If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. I'm just so worried about her. She's a good girl and enjoys singing. Only time she wont tic....
