I have a 1 yr 2 month baby and she still does not know how to walk. I try putting her to walk but she does not like it even if I hold her hand. I dont know what to do anymore. What have you ladies tried and helped your babies to walk?

She will do it when she is ready. My son was 15 months, and my daughter was about that age also. They will do it at their own pace.

There are not really tips per say to teach a child to walk. At even this age its not totally uncommon for kids to not be walking yet for a number of reasons. My oldest was 13.5 months old when she finally walked. I think she had tried earlier on and fell and as a result held on for dear life when trying to let her go. With her, I used a push toy that she could get behind and stand up and push in front of her. It gave her confidence as she got used to it and eventually she started to walk without it. I also still held her hands to walk and encouraged her to take steps. With my boy, it was a different story. He was also 13.5 months of age when he first walked but he also had a lot of baby weight to carry. He wanted to take off for certain it just took time for him to build up strength in his arms and legs to handle the weight. And as with his sister, we encouraged him and used toys he could stand behind and push. Walking is a part of nature and takes place with the child is ready not when the parents are ready. It is a milestone that is not an average that all kids need to go by. Each child is different and will come to those milestones on their own terms. If your child is not walking in a few more months then I would talk to her doctor and see about testing her for any problems that can not be seen with your own eyes. But really, do not get too worried, you might turn around one day and she will be walking before you know it.
