My daughter attends a Title 1 elementary school whose enrollment is 91% below poverty level. The school offers lots of helpful programs to at risk children and things such as LCSW onsite, etc. We are a part of the 9% above the poverty level, and we are so bored with this school. There was after school tutoring my daughter joined because there was nothing else offered, and now it's over already. I called the school board and asked if they have school choice so I could choose a different school for next year, for my daughter and my son who will go to kindergarten. A woman told me I could not choose another school and my kids have to stay put. My daughter is also advanced and they will not let her go to magnet school next year because we moved to this district after their application deadline. What should I do? I am not ready to pay for everyone to go to private school, but it seems like the public school district should be more helpful. Should I homeschool them again? I really wanted to go back to work....
