Heres my story: I have two daughters of my own 5 and 8 and then I have a step child who is 6 (which we have primary care of all three) and we have all been a family for two years but my step child has issues with not being an only child anymore and will act out to get attention and his bio mom only sees him once a week and maybe twice every other week, but he uses her against us and constantly looks forward to going to her house because she has no rules (no bedtime, no good healthy meals, etc.). I am struggling with trying to keep my cool about his mother because I am picking up her slack but then get thrown under the bus even though I am 90% his caregiver. His mother is extremely difficult to get along with and his parents do not get a long so I try to communicate with her so that it makes it easier on everyone, which it does, but causes quite a bit of stress on myself. Any suggestions to you step mothers out there with similar issues? I am thinking church, counselor, and some serious family talks...
