To bunk-bed or not to bunk-bed?

I have two daughters - age 5 and age 20 months. Each girl currently has her own room. My 20 month old has grown out of her crib and we're having trouble getting her to stay in a toddler bed. My 5 year old has been asking for a bunk bed for over a year now. I've had this thought of turning my 5 year old's room into a sleeping room for the girls, with bunk-beds for sleep and dressers for clothes. We would then turn my 20 month old's room into a play-room with desks, book shelves, etc., for them to play and work in once they reach school-age. Do any mommas have advice on whether this is a good idea or not? I'm worried about combining rooms only to have to split the girls into two rooms again.

As they grow they will always want to change things, that's what happens.
If they want to sleep in the same room for now then I would change it. I had my boys do that for quite a few years and then when we moved again and they could have their own rooms, that's what they chose.
