I'm currently working outside the home and am now back up to close to 10 hours a week but come September I may losing my job due to budget reasons and am also trying to get a work at home business up and running. Another p/t job came up and have applied for it. But given the cost of childcare; gas and my husband working quite abit of overtime, is it worth the cost of childcare. I don't mind working to help, but at what cost? I don't mind paying some towards childcare, but feel that it would defeat the purpose of the whole paycheck going towards that. What to do.

I know what you mean I am in the same boat. In the uk a days childcare for a preschool child is £40 x 5 £200 a week which would mean I would have to earn £12,000 a year just to pay the child care. I am afraid I am not going to work 40 hours a week and come off worse off. how old is your child could they be eligible for government funding perhaps!
