I am a mother of two amazing identical twin boys. They are in preschool and one is excelling more than the other. Their teacher suggested today that maybe I should consider separating them when they go to kinder. I'm lost because they've been together since, well, forever. What do I do?

Actually, the teacher has a point here. In public schools, they most likely will be in different class rooms anyhow. This will teach them to be independent of each other, teach them to make other friends and to play with others, help them to mature as well. Separation of the twins will not hurt them in anyway. Besides, when they go to school they will have evenings, weekends, and all the school breaks to be together. This will also help them both to develop their own interests and gifts too. One might be the artist type and the other might be a sports type. Its not a bad thing. I have also known kids who were born 1o months apart and parents thought they would be in the same classes and found them separated. It did them a world of good.

Thank you so much Evelyn, you are making the idea of this whole transition easier for me.
