Today is Wednesday 10th,i had my son Sunday 7th. I only had to have 1 stitch despite having quite a rough birth, I was just wondering how long it took people to heal internally after giving birth as passing urine is nearly unbearable and stings like crazy, my partner says i sound like i did in the early stages of contractions. Advice and length of time to heal please.

Congrats on baby! He shares my bday, so it's an EXCELLENT day, of course! ;-)

As Sarah said, everyone is different. For me, the worst irritation passed in 3-4 days, so at least urinating was no longer a new experience in pain, but as long as you use that squirt bottle that they give you, take as many warm baths as you can/need, and use the pillow to sit, it will help get thru this part!

Also, pat, don't wipe...and believe it or not, baby wipes work awesome, and are very soothing!

Each person and post postpartum is going to be different. I would say give yourself a week or two to start feeling better. Take warm baths as much as you can and use the squirt bottle they gave you. I used that for about the first month or so. I think wiping was the hardest thing for me to get my mind into doing. Sitting on a donut or a pillow or soft blankets helps the bottom too if you get sore when sitting.
