At my daughter's 2 yr check up, her pediatrician said it was okay to switch her to 2% milk. She's around the 50th percentile for weight and 90s for height so not chunky and she's very active. Now that we've switched her to 2% she is drinking a ton of milk! She will take some water and some juice and she eats pretty well but I swear, she drinks a whole gallon in 3-4 days!! I'm wondering if 2% isn't satisfying her and worried that she's drinking too much milk. Should I go back to whole milk?

That is not a whole lot of milk. We use 2 gallons in 3 days and we have a 2 year old and 5 year old. We do not give our kids anything besides whole milk, and personally I will only drink whole. If you want to put her back on whole then go for it. Milk is not what makes kids overweight anyways McDonnalds does.

A gallon has 16 cups (right?), so in 4 days that would be 4 cups a day. That's not overly TOO much for a 2 year old. You could try limiting milk to just meals (so 3 cups a day) and only offer water in between meals. And maybe add an additional little snack in there. I don't think it's too bad if she drinks a whole gallon every 4-5 days.

Whole milk will just fill her up more, and she may not eat as much.

It's not going to harm her, so if you feel like you want to put her back on whole milk, go for it!
