My 2.5 year old started daycare 1 month ago. I really like the program and the caregivers but they take the children on field trips once per week. The outings usually involve the toddlers taking the bus and or light rail train to get to their destination. There is 2 adults for 12 toddlers 19-36 months old. They are usually only gone for the morning but every 4-6 weeks they go on day long field trips. I think this is too much travelling in traffic for the age group and I am starting to worry about my childs safety. I worry about the ability of 2 twenty -something year old caregivers to take care of my daughter in an emergency. Not to mention the amount of travell on public transit with out car seats etc. They venture out to busy areas of town like shopping districts to go to the library or the bakery etc. How does one adult ensure the safety of 6 toddlers if an emergency were to occurr. Am I just being paranoid. I cannot stay home from work once/week to keep my daughter home from daycare. Any opinions or ideas?
