My son 2 and a half years old developed mrsa in December of 2012.Who has since had recurring boils in the diaper area. We realized a couple weeks ago that his tonsils are huge and is being referred to an ENT Dr. He goes to daycare and has had several colds a few ear infections that were treated with antibiotics. Does any one know if there could be a link to his mrsa and enlarged tonsils? The pediatrician has ruled out strep. I wonder if his body continuously fighting of these boil outbreaks has lead to over worked tonsils that is causing him more harm than good. As I know enlarged tonsils can be infected. Could a tonsillectomy benefit him to keep him off antibiotics in which mrsa can become resistant too?
