Hi,

My daughter will be 2 1/2 this month and has been potty trained since she was 2. Since she potty trained, she has been waking up at night to go potty (and waking us up in the process). We have her training potty by her bed so she can go by herself, and she is at the point now where she can do it on her own (and she goes potty by herself in the morning).

I thought we were going in a positive direction because for a few weeks she slept through the night and then would wake up in the morning and go potty by herself. However, she has been continually waking me up at night to go potty and now it's gotten much much worse. She'll wake me up crying now to "fix her blanket" or to "get her water" (her water cup is always by her bed). I feel like I'm at the end of my rope with this routine and don't know how much longer I can keep it up - I wake up at 6 am for work and I'm 13 weeks pregnant and EXHAUSTED from her night time waking. I've tried bribing her with candy, toys, etc. and that didn't work. I also now don't come into her room but stand at the doorway when she tells me she needs to go potty so she has to do it herself. I've yelled at her (can't help it, sometimes I'm so tired I can't help it) and that doesn't help.

Talking to her through the monitor upsets her more and then she starts screaming. We've thought about letting her cry (and have let her cry for 5-10 minutes) but she's so loud I'm afraid she'll wake the neighbors (we live in a condo).

I stopped giving her a cup of milk after dinner now and try to limit her liquids as much as possible (if she asks me for water I still give it to her).

She used to be such a good sleeper! I don't know what happened! She takes an afternoon nap at around the same time everyday and I get her to bed every night by 7:30-8 p.m. She has been giving me a really hard time lately about going to bed....is part of it her age?

Any advice would be much appreciated!! I'm desperate! Also, any good books on toddler sleep and/or night time potty training? Any other moms going through this too or have been through it? I'm not sure if this is normal for her age or a stage that she'll pass though (hopefully soon).

Thank you!!!
