My 17 month old screamed bloody murder today when i put him in the shower with me. Is this normal? He was so worked up it took him a few mins to calm down afterwards? Any advice?

Many many children until they are 4 or 5 don't like showers. Give him baths instead, my opinion he is too young for a shower yet.

He could definately be afraid of the shower. My third child is terrified. I just, in the last couple weeks, finally got him talked into getting in the shower with me (he's 3). Before then there was absolutely no way. Even if the shower head was down (we have one that is connected to a hose so you can move it wherever) he wouldn't get a bath. Now, I take the shower head down, and let him fell it with his hands and even hold the shower head himself. He's still not to sure of it, but at least he isn't screaming anymore.

My son still does this. I think he is just afraid of the spray.
What we did is let him stand in front of us so he doesn't get hit directly with the water. After a while of watching, then he will try to stick his hand in the water. I don't ever get his head wet while we are in the shower either because I know it scares him. If I pick him up I slowly turn towards the water so it is only falling on his back.
