Toddler sleeping with a tv in room?

Hello. My daughter is a very active toddler who turns 2 next month. She has always had problems sleeping. She wakes up all hours of the night. I have tried everything and nothing seams to help. Lately I have noticed that if she falls asleep in my bed or on the couch at night with the tv going she sleeps great. So I was considering putting a tv and DVD player in her room to play a movie while she is falling a sleep. Does this sound like a good idea or will it make it worse?

We have one in our 4 yr olds room and will be giving her a big girl bed and tv out. Temporary w 2nd baby. She is good about shutting it off and having stories before bed. Netflix is good selection of educational shows.

My daughter has a stereo in her room and likes the radio on to sleep. My son listens to his iPod. He is 15 and doesn't even have a TV in his room. At age 2, her TV viewing time should be limited anyway, I personally think that you'd be making a mistake allowing her to have a TV in her room. But as I said, my kids are much older, and I still won't allow TVs in their room. But that's probably more because then I'd never see them, LOL.

I would suggest a radio instead of a tv. When I was younger, my parents put a tv in my room and I would get up in the middle of the night and watch tv without them knowing. That is a really bad habit to start.

I wouldn't put a tv in her room, however a radio and a night light may work. It could either be the noise or the light that helps. But the TV could be detrimental to her sleeping, because as she gets older she may turn it on and watch it instead of sleeping.
