I am a fairly young mother. Although before I had children I thought I knew what I was doing, I am now finding that I can't get my 2 year old to do the simplest things without starting a mini world war. Now I know about terrible two's and such, but is there anyone out there that has or had an extremely independant and headstrong, not to mention defiant, child who maybe able to give a young mom a few pointers? Things such as potty training, picking up toys, fighting with his younger brother, talking back, etc are all topics that i could use help on. I know children pick up on what they see and hear, and we have changed how we talk around them and the shows and movies we allow them to watch, but it doesn't seem like it's helping. Any suggestions? I'm open to all ideas on child rearing and what not.
