My almost 2 year old wont keep her nappy on so we decided to toilet train her BUT she keeps poohing in her underwear/pull-ups/nappy and then taking it off all by herself leaving a huge mess for me to clean up afterwards. She is fine with weeing on the toilet and will go poo on toilet if I take her at the right time but if not then she just deals with it by herself. Dont know what to do!

I would love it if I could use the reward idea however my little girl is strange in the sense that she doesnt like praise! I tried it months ago when she first went wee in the potty (got all excited and gave her a treat) she frowned at me then picked up the potty and threw it and wouldnt sit on it again! so i went back to nappies then started again a few weeks later with the toilet and i didnt make a big deal so she was happy to continue. Might try it again though now that she is used to the toilet (and cant throw it at me!)

I'm potty training my 2 year old daughter at the moment too but it's the opposite for me. My daughter will tell me when she needs to go poop and then i'll take her to the potty but she pee's anywhere :( i only started training her 2 days ago so i can't complain as of yet but i'm going to be following this thread for more information/advice anyway. Sorry i'm no help, hope we both get through it soon :)

You have a bright little girl there. If she goes poo on the toilet when you put her on, then I would make a big deal of it when she does go, and give a little reward for every time she poos on the toilet. Stickers, M&M's anything like that. Eating and drinking often start the intestines moving, so I would put her on the toilet after every meal and snack and see if you can catch the act. If she has an accident, don't scold her. Take her into the bathroom and remind her that if she goes in the toilet she'll get a reward. She is quite young yet, so it may take her a while to get the idea, just keep an eye out for the signs that she has to go.
