I have a 9 year old daughter that still believes in the tooth fairy and she lost a tooth last night, so what do I do when I'm broke and can't afford to put money under her pillow? I so forgot last nite and when she came in this morning I told her she must of been busy and will come tonite but I'm broke. What do I do??

Write her a note. I had that trouble with my older daughter and I wrote a note in the tiniest handwriting I could on plain white paper. If you have some glitter you could sprinkle that on too. My handwriting was so small she couldn't recognize that it was my writing, so I was OK there. I told her that there were so many kids that were losing teeth that she was a little behind schedule and she would collect the tooth another night. (I said what night, so we didn't lose the tooth in the mean time.) You could also have someone else write the note if you're worried about the hand writing part.

Ha ha. My husband has kept my girls baby teeth in empty Tylenol bottles in our dresser. I think this is so disgusting! Ew ew ew. :)

Our tooth fairy used to leave notes (written in my non dominant hand, so not 'traceable'...LOL) when she 'ran out of gold dollars'. The kids weren't stupid, they knew that I was TF. But they also enjoyed saving their dollars, and to this day both still have their tooth money. They knew that on payday TF would make sure they got their dollar.

Worked great until they found the envelopes with their baby teeth in them...Had to scramble, so told them that the tooth fairy gives the teeth back to mom & dad if they ask.

I hope it helps! It's hard these days, and you're lucky to still have a little believer! It's a precious time that goes by so quickly! My older daughter still has the note that I left and she has showed it to her little sister. i might have to write her a note one night too! We've made it through 17 teeth so far between my two girls. That's a lot of work! and it can be expensive anymore considering how much some people give their kids.

I have had the same thing happen! I felt awful about it. In my case it was going to be a week before I got paid again. I personally didn't like the idea of borrowing a few dollars. I picked up pecans out of my yard and sold them to get toothfairy money. I always try to keep something I can sale quickly for a few extra dollars. We keep soda cans we save them for a rainy day fund. I am not a crafty person but I have heard of people leaving new toothbrushes, small trinkets they made or bought, & other little things instead of money. Maybe you can leave a little trinket with a note.

Enna thank you so much that is a great idea and that is what I'm goin to do tonite. When I would forget in the past I would tell the kids the fairy wake me up and gave me the money because she could not find the tooth, and I was to get the tooth and send it to her. I don't know it worked but this time I'm really broke so this was great advice. thanks so much
