I saw a older post on this issue, but thought I would start a new one to see if anyone has some newer feedback and help. My heart is breaking. My son has Tourette Syndrome and has been diagnosed since about 4th grade. He is now 16. He has had many verbal and motor tics and he has tried all the categories of medications. I am a nurse and have tried to medically and phychologically help him figure this out. He tried behavioral therapy. He has been on medication and off medication. He has been to the chiropractor and massage therapist. He doesn't think that any of these things help and believes that the doctors are useless. I feel he is getting depressed as the pain increases and remains constant over time. The doctors do not seem to understand even the specialists in Tourette Syndrome. My son feels like I cannot help him and the reality is that I cannot. Holding him and telling him that it will get better does not cut it when he has been struggling with this for so long. Any ideas or help on how to help him manage the pain will be greatly appreciated.
