My son is 7 months old and has presented symptoms since birth that have recently gotten much worse. He has noisey breathing (stridor), difficulty swallowing foods, chest retractions, reoccurring pneumonia and bronchitis, and after drinking he coughs to the point of throwing up. The ENT doc is suspecting some type of tracheal compression and is doing a bronchoscopy on the 23rd of this month. I would love to hear from other moms who have gone through this and what the outcome was. I understand there can be different severities depending upon the type of compression. He is having a swallow study done tomorrow. I have been staying up all night watching him breathe just to be sure he will be okay. Is there an oxygen monitoring machine that you can purchase via the internet? What were the long-term effects of this problem with your child if any? Thanks so much!!
