I'm 30 years old I have two kids Trinity 11 Braxtyn 6. I was forced to sign the papers and they took my kids. I know I have a lawsuit bc of things that happened during the fight to get my kids back. It seems I've only fallen harder with out my heart and soul to keep me going. I live im fayetteville arkansas. I need legal representation. I am poor and don't know where to start to get them back. Please help me with a solution to getting my kids back.

Thank all of you for your thoughts. No I don't get to see them and yes it was a long list of court dates I went to and no there's nothing more that I did to deserve to lose my kids. I did everything they asked. The lawyer situation was messed up and not fair to my children or me at all.

The best thing you can do is contact Legal Aid and tell them about your case.

I don't understand about the new lawyer? If you were being represented in Family Court, why would your lawyer hand your case off to someone who would not step in as your representative? If you were not represented adequately, maybe that would be grounds to reopen the case? Were the children placed with family? Do you get to see them?

Well, you signed without reading, which you should not have done.

It sounds as if you need therapy, as well as to follow what you need to in order to get your kids back. Your situation obviously was more involved than just one court date, because they never remove parental custody without a pretty drastic reason, at least not in the US.

Consult with legal aid in your area.

My lawyer called me three days before court and said she's leaving and the gave me a different one. She told me she was new but she didn't tell me she wasn't on my side. Well I got to court and the first thing the judge did was bring the detective to the stand. I was so scarred they were going to tell me my kids weren't coming home. Well even worse I had no idea what he was going to day was going to change every thing in our lifes. As soon as he said what he said I couldn't breathe I couldn't stop crying or catch my breath. I was hyperventilating and the judge told me to go in the hall way for a minute. I was still in shock and so hurt by the words I thought I was dying. My lawyer made me stay in a room for the rest of the court bc I couldn't breathe and was still hyperventilating. They would let me back in the court room. My lawyer came back in the room I'm still not in my right state of mind kept saying just sign the papers just sign the papers it'll be fine just sign. I can't understand why she did that to me. There wrong. You can't tell a mother something like that and expect her to be in her right state of mind.

Why were you forced to sign papers? No one can make you do that; a judge can take them from you but otherwise you voluntarily gave them up. Where are they now? Try contacting Legal Aide in your state and see if you can get affordable representation.
