Hello, I have been breast feeding my daughter for 3 1/2 months now and sometimes I suppliment with formula when we go to the grocery store or when I needed a sitter for a couple hours. She has always prefered breast milk and we have had such a great bond doing it.

However the last few days she refuses to breast feed. She will at night sometimes but screams during the day and will not latch on and does not seem interested. I tried pumping and she didn't want that. I had some progress she ate off both sides 3 times last night but refused in the morning but ate a bm bottle. Then ate off both sides at noon then refused again at 3 and ate bm bottle then cried toward the end of the bottle and latched on to my breast.

I am so confused and frustrated as to what is going on? Am I doing something wrong? What should I do? I have stopped giving her formula and am sticking to bm.

Thank you I do to. Today has been the best so far and she seems to be improving.

that could have a lot to do with it. My daughter would eat horribly when she was sick. Scream at me to nurse and then scream at me because she couldn't breath while nursing. Hope she goes back to normal for you.

I actually do use a nipple shield and have since she was born but sometimes she will eat with it and sometimes without. She just ate and chose to bf which was nice I think its a stage and if she's hungry she will eat. She kinda has a head cold so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not.

you arn't doing anything wrong. My daughter at the same age decided to refuse bottles and only take breast. I really missed having pumped bottles to take with me in public. You could try a nipple shield that way everything is the same and she doesn't have to get used to a different nipple every time. I loved my nipple shield but had to stop using it along with the bottles since I didn't use it all the time.
