I agree he has anger issues, but can I ask what is triggering this behaviour? I can't imagine he is just randomly doing it, so there is something happening (eg. your rules) that are triggering the behaviour. I am not in any way saying the behaviour is okay, but often, getting to the bottom of what is triggering the behaviour can help lead toward a negotiated solution. It is normal at this age to start pushing back over some things - they are that much closer to adulthood and think they should have more rights, flexibility, etc, so a better understanding of what is triggering the behaviour would be helpful.

Also, if you feel he needs therapy, the schools often offer counselling, depending on the circumstances. It may be worth talking to his pastoral care teacher (or whatever you call them where you live - as an example, I am a year group coordinator who manages wellbeing for my year group at a school and often have these conversations with parents) to see if there is any support they can provide.

He seems to have anger issues and he will not open up to you, so you need a fresh pair of eyes and ears of a professional and see if he will open up with what is going on with him. It doesn't cost much, but it will help him in the long run. It helped my son. I highly advise that you give this a try, you have nothing to lose, but much to gain.
