Hello mothers, My older cousin is trying to conceive. I have told her to use this site but she didn't want to make an account so i volunteered to help out with her concerns. She's been trying for a couple months now to have a baby but she never gets pregnant. She had sex Sunday night & yes he came in her but Monday afternoon she started her period. Is it possible she could be pregnant since she started her period a day after the intercourse? If not any tips on how she could ? Thank you

If she's getting her period, then she's almost definitely not pregnant. The period starts because the womb has not been implanted, and needs to shed the lining to prepare for possible implantation the next month.

Sometimes it takes a while to get pregnant. Ovulation generally happens about 2 weeks before the period starts, but could change from month to month. The sperm can live inside the woman's body for about 3 days. After ovulation, the egg is viable for only 1-2 days. So, to maximize chances of pregnancy, they should be having sex about every 2-3 days.
