My son was born with Kidney Reflux. (VUR). The doctors wouldn't listen to me that he was sick. Like seriously he was born sick. At a week and a half old he got hospitalized for Sepsis. Sepsis caused from VUR.

It developed quickly by 4 months old he had grade 5 in both kidneys 5th grade out of 5. He also developed hydro in both kidneys...

Doctor refused to do surgery or check him for a uti or anything even when he didn't pee for 4 day's, not one drop. So we went home and he got his well needed surgery within a month and half of meeting his new doctor.

He can control his pee now and is finally off his meds. But we are having issues potty training. He's 23 months and 5 months post ob. He wants to use the potty and be on big boy underwear. But he pees every 10 minutes and gets bored with running to the potty so often.

Any ideas? Any tips?

Then lots of patience and maybe even the pediatric urologist may have some tips. Like timing his drinking and trips to the potty. They do make training underpants that a still underpants but are really thick and absorbent where they need to be.

Yes that doctor got reported. That is why we moved. She was the only pediatric one there....

He goes poop on the potty just can't really make it when needing to pee....He treats pull-ups as diapers and I just don't want that.

Even under ideal circumstances 23 months may be too soon to potty train. Since he desires to wear underwear, maybe put them on for an hour or two of "practice" each day. It's going to take some time for his bladder control to catch up. You can move him out of diapers and into a pull-up while he works on training. It is unfortunate that your son's health was dismissed by the doctor and I hope you reported him to the Dept. of Professional Regulation for negligence. Four days of no urine is a serious issue!
