My 15 year old daughter is being very rebellious. Everything from internet sites, tv shows, lying and not obeying family rules. One of which was no dating until she was 16 and as long as she maintained her grades. Our last blow up I was informed that I sheltered her to much and she couldn't stand up for herself and she never felt she could talk to me. But when I pressed why she felt that way she couldn't say. This has been some kind of year. While shopping for school clothes in the beginning of the year I found out she was cutting herself - that she has no motivation - and that she likes girls. I feel like a horrible mother that I didn't see any of these signs. Now at the end of the year I found out by her social media that she has been seeing a girl for two months. Her girlfriend is a senior who also cuts and has eating disorders and thoughts of killing herself. Every mothers dream ! I've taken away her smart phone because she refuses to put the phone away at night. She has a texting phone with no internet. Now she has acquired an old smart phone from a friend and plans to use it at night when she should be sleeping. I want to take her to a therapist ( possible even as a family ) she needs to learn other ways to cope and that standing up for herself doesn't give her the right to be rude and disrespectful. She asked once to get meds but I told her they don't just hand them out without talking to you. The next day she said to forget about it. I feel her slipping away and I don't know what to do. Thanks for listening - Annmarie
