Hi all! My husband and I have been TTC since Aug 2014 when I got off birth control. Since last summer, my cycles have been monthly-but not "regular." I haven't had a period since 3 Feb 16, last month I had a tiny bit of spotting after intercourse on 6 Mar 16 (thought it was maybe implantation bleeding, but negative tests). Today, same thing - a tiny bit of spotting (9 Apr 16) but still no period. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. I'm scared it could be something serious... I really wish it was a positive pregnancy, but I am wondering if anyone has had a cyst or anything before; that may have cause two missed periods in a row. Wishing for the best news possible ♥

In addition to the reasons you period can be disrupted I can list about 30 more....that is not the point. We cannot examine you we can only share person info and life experience. After one year of active trying you should see a fertility doc.

I wasn't trying to be snarky. I'm sorry you took it that way. Random people can provide stories that could be similar to yours, but that doesn't mean what they experienced is the same as what you are experiencing. Only a doctor can tell you for sure.

Typical reasons your monthly cycle would be disrupted are:
Pregnancy
Stress
Illness
Changes in Weight
Changes in Exercise
Medication
Hormonal Imbalance
Thyroid Disorder
Perimenopause
Polycystic Ovary Symptom (PCOS)
Chronic Diseases like Celiac

Since disruption to your cycle is the only symptom you spoke about, it's really difficult to narrow down what could be happening with your body. Your doctor would be the best one to determine what's going on.

Raye - the intent of my post was to reach out to other women to see if anyone else had experienced anything like that and what came out of it. I have a doctors appt scheduled...Thank you for stating the obvious, your snarky response wasn't necessary or appreciated. You should be a little more sensitive when someone is reaching out for support with obvious fertility issues.

Irregular periods are very typical. A cyst or other issue would cause different symptoms. If you have been actively trying for over a year; it is time to see a fertility specialist. Good Luck!

There's any number of reasons why your period may not be regular, or is being missed. Random people on the internet can't tell you what's happening. You should see a doctor.
