Tubal Ligation?

Vanessa - posted on 04/11/2013 ( 3 moms have responded )

I am will be 26 in 4 month and I am considering having the tubal ligation. I was wondering if any other moms have had complications or a change in heath after the procedure. I am 100% sure this is what I want, so please be nice. I am just worried about a change in my overall health or complications. I know everybody is different, but any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Well Teressa, you may have not been ready for a tubal then. It sounds like you were unsure about your decision.

Me on the other hand, i am thrilled beyond belief that I can never get pregnant again. I do not want any more children, and am very happy with the two I have. It should be looked at as a permanent decision. Not every women feels like they lost their "womenhood". I don't. I feel more empowered over my own body because I made this decision knowing full well what it consisted of, and that I will no longer have children. Birth control was always a problem for me, and that was not an option. i am very happy with my decision.

Vanessa I'm telling you from experience don't get your tubes tied. I wish I never did it even though I don't plan or want any More children. I just feel bad because I can no longer have children, and that my womanhood has been altered. I wish i would have just gotten some kind of birth control that would last for a while. I've had no complications as of yet though and my menustration is not irregular or anything either. The scar is not noticeable either, it's very small. I just think that if a woman wants a child they should be able to have one and God has given us this gift that is so beautiful so why mess that up but I wish you luck and God Bless you . Teresa

As long as you're 110% sure...I'm with Little Miss.

The circumstances under which I got mine are a confusing, dramatic mess, so I'll spare you. Lol

But, one thing that I really enjoyed was NO MORE CONDOMS! Of course, now that I'm single again, should I choose to do the deed again....would you like latex or lamb? NO STD's for me!

My tiny little scar is actually in my belly button, but I had my surgery 13 years ago. No complications. Again, like Little Miss said, it gives you a new found freedom. Anywhere, anytime...no chance of forgetting to take a pill, no shots, no iud's and no ooops! ; )

(I will just caution that if there is the slightest chance that you might want another, like if you were to have a relationship with another man who is young, like you, then you might want to give a second thought. Otherwise--snip away girl!)
