I just reviewed the site provided below and it offers good advice and suggestions. However, it is a personal website and is not backed by the AAP, LLL or any other medical association. There really should be a disclaimer saying that the advice given is for informational purposes and not meant to replace your doctor or certified lactation consultant's advice.
In the few minutes I spent there, I found two pieces of information that should not be followed: if you think you have mastitis you should seek medical help and not try to cure it at home. If you have a visible "bleb" or curd of milk that is stuck in your nipple, do NOT try to open in with a needle yourself. You can cause scar tissue and make the whole blocked milk duct and impeded flow worse. Rather you should continue to nurse and manually express the milk out of the nipple.
