Does anyone else have babies that like to watch tv, my five month old loves tv, I don't let him watch it all the time because I love to get down on the floor and play with him.

Thanks for your replies, Jack doesn't sit in front of tv all the time he is very sociable and likes mummy and daddy to get down on the floor and play with him, so a lot of the time I am on the floor playing with him which I love to do.

Even still at age two, it is not even suggested to expose them to much tv. Even the shows on dvd or video for Baby Enstien, and other so called educational shows were proven by studies and doctors to be more of a hinderance than an help and did not make the child any smarter or early at what they were doing be it reading or other skills. IF a child is going to be an early reader then its just something that happens, no program is going to do this. Also those neuro receptors make certain connections during the formative years and if a TV is used or other devices are used those receptors do not make the same connections in the brain and it changes things up for the child in their learning processes. What is best for kids is one on one activities.

Maybe i should have posted that we only started to allow him to really watch tv when he turned 2.Before i would put a dvd of simply red live show on and he would stare at it,i took him away from it after a couple of minutes.

It is not recommended that a child under the age of two get into tv, movies, computers, smart phones or other similar types of devices until older. At this age the brain is making a lot of certain types of connections that the baby needs to grow and learn. If placed in front of technology or tv all the time, those receptors grow in a different way and the child will rely on tech stuff to make the connections they need. Playing with them is the most important thing they need the first five years.
