And not all ultrasounds can pick up on gender. I had no idea what I was having when I had my daughter....they couldn't see on the ultrasounds. At the end of the day, does it really matter that much as long as they are healthy?

Each baby should have a different heart rate, and the heart rate should fluctuate. it may be a coincidence that they both were at 143 at the time of the evaluation. You cannot tell gender by heart rate. There are all sorts of old wives tales about gender, they will be right half of the time.
Did you request to be told the gender? If you don't ask the doctor won't tell you and sometimes, the doctor cannot be certain.
