I assume you mean the twins *were* premature, but now it's been 8 months since they were born? How premature were they? An 8 month old born 1 month premature is really around the 7 month old developmental stage.
You can probably start introducing them to baby food and cereals. If they can sit up (with support) and can hold their head and neck up well, if their birth weight has at least doubled, and if they are interested in what you’re eating and may even try to grab food from your plate, then they are probably ready for more than breastmilk or formula.
If you offer a spoon of baby food and they push it all out of their mouth, they may not have the ability to move it to the back of their mouth to swallow it. It’s normal. If they've never had anything thicker than breast milk or formula before, this may take some getting used to. Try diluting it the first few times, or start with a little formula and switch to the baby food. If the baby doesn't want the food, wait a week and try again with a different flavor. Don't give your baby too many different flavors close together.
Most babies learn to crawl between the ages of 7 and 10 months. If they haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet, they still have some time. It's not too late.
