twitching toddler

[deleted account] ( 5 moms have responded )

recently my 3 yr old daughter has started twitching during her sleep. They go from arms to legs and are 3- apart. They usually last for 3 hours....Any idea what could have started this up suddenly ..Dr says think any thing unusual but will be having her a neurologist..Anyone else experience this with their child?

I gave my opinion and never said that you should not see a doctor. In fact I told you go have a sleep study, which if she only has seizures at night is what she would have had in the last two days. Best of luck

sarah e. so neurologist diagnosed my 3 yr old to have genetic epilepsy...what good your uneducated advice served. So before you hit up your opinion to a more clueless mom remember you can harm a child if they take you up on your pathetic advice.. good luck with that..try not to get sued....dr,,,,you suck at this find something better to do wth your life,,,

Simply because I inquire as to how you know she has these tremors or why are concerned about nighttime twitching does not make me snarky or a know-it all...I just asked. You aren't the only mother of 4 here either.
You are such a hypocrite, you start off your post with how you can come off as a sarcastic witch without that being your intention; then you end your post accusing me of that very behavior. You want to be done with CoM, it's your loss.
You want an opinion? There is nothing wrong. You want proof? take her for a sleep study and pay to be told there is nothing wrong. How can I figure this out....is she incontinent during these episodes, biting her tongue or lips? falling off the bed? If none of these thing are happening, it is probably her typical sleep cycle movement.

Sara E....sometimes I can come off as being a sarcastic witch, even though it may not be my intention. People know me as having a real low tolerance for ignorance, and I usually don't respond to people who have negative vibes because my tolerance for ignorance is very low. If I bring my daughter to 10 doctors just so I can ihave peace of mind that she is well its nobodys business. Her tremors were alittle violent so yes I watched her...why would you care? All I wanted to see if others parents hac similar issues so maybe I would be t ease with it. Your comment is so snarky and know-it-all you might have made a less strong mother fell less confident in herself. Being a mom for 20 years to 4 daughters has given me the confidence that judgers like you seem tiny and uncalled for.. I tell my kids...its not what you say its how you say it,,this site is done

Why are you watching you 3 yo sleep for hours and hours. We all go thru periods of deep sleep and periods of partial wakefulness. Have you never jumped awake from sleep yourself?
She twitches every 3 minutes for 3 hours in her sleep, correct? I suppose having a neurologist tell you nothing is wrong will make you feel better.
