My girl is very talkative, very social. My son the direct opposite. Also he has autism spectrum disorder. he has no friends how do I help him make friends. He holds his head down and acts childish at times and just don't want him to be lonely like I was through out my junior high. How do I help.

Sorry to hear about your concerns with your son. Middle school is hard for just about anyone, but if he's on the spectrum, I can see why you're extra anxious. You're a sweet mom for looking out for him.

Is there a school counselor you can speak to? Does your son see a therapist? A professional who works with this type of situation might be able to offer ideas on how to help him. Or they could perhaps alleviate some of your worries.

Also, what is he interested in? If he has an interest in something, perhaps he could meet people through that. For instance, if he likes playing Minecraft, he can join a Minecraft club. Or if he likes chess, he can join a chess club.

Praying for you and your son...

If he prefers to be alone, then he isn't lonely. I definitely was not a social child and if anyone had forced my to get out and be with others, I would have been unhappy. What do he say he wants to do?
