I've been reading some of the older posts from a couple of years ago about ADD/ADHD. We had a meeting with our son's teacher, who is absolutely awesome. She told us our 8 year old has a very hard time paying attention. He made the A/B honor roll but 3rd grade is so diffucult and he will no doubt fall behind if his focus does not improve. He looks at his finders or just sits and doesn't listen. At home is a very sweet, loving and caring child. He is a "couch potato" at home, has no initiative for anything and seems very sluggish. He is not organized and has to be told more than twice to do something usually. Has anyone tried l-tyrosine, omega3 or B12 supplements? We would like to go the herbal route first before trying any stimulants. This has been an eye opener for us and we are very worried. Please! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

It does not sound like ADD to me. Have his hearing and eyes tested again. Then look into his reading. In 3rd grade reading changes from reading to read to reading to learning. This can be hard for some kids. Behaviors come out when they are having difficulty in other areas.....seeing, hearing, reading. Look into those areas first.
