So, I'm wondering how many of you ladies had ultrasounds show your baby would be a certain size and they ended up BIGGER than that size? My ultrasounds are showing that my baby will be smaller than my first but I have a feeling he's going to be bigger. I'm due in 4 weeks and I'm just curious. Who's bub was bigger than expected??

I had a scan at 35 weeks and my son was measuring at just under 6lb. He was born 2 days later at 6lb 1oz so they were pretty accurate with him. At the birth I was told if I'd made it full term he could have been around 9lb. With my daughter (baby no 2) I knew she was going to me bigger and was expecting her to be around 2lb heavier than my son. She was born 4 days early at 8lb 2oz

Yea, I've usually heard that they're smaller than estimated. I guess I'm just worried that my little guy is going to be so tiny. :/

My doctor was pretty darn accurate in guessing my baby's weight. She said he'd be about 6 1/2 lbs & he was born 6lbs 6oz. My SIL was told her baby was measuring at 8lbs 14oz at 37 weeks! We thought, my lord she's going to have a big baby! Anyway, he ended up being 7lbs 6oz born at 41 weeks lol.

My ultrasounds all said my kids would be 9+ lbs, and they were all born 6 lbs - 6.6 Lbs. I put very little value in ultrasounds, when it comes to babies sizes. They are 0 for 3 so far for me.

They thought my daughter was small for dates, there were a number of reasons why she could have been (my size, I worked on my feet all day, etc) so they were monitoring her growth. The last scan said she was only 3 or 4 lb at 36 weeks.. They said I would be lucky to deliver a 5 pound baby, at birth my daughter weighed exactly 6 lb. This time around though I have a feeling im going to have a bigger baby then my daughter.. but at the end of the day which ever it is ill be happy..

I was 41 weeks when I got my last ultrasound to check fluids. They told me my daughter would be smaller than average (6-7 lbs). I never wore maternity pants and my belly measured smaller than it should have. My daughter ended up being 8 lbs 2.5 oz and 20.5 inches. All the doctors were shocked she ended up that big.

My first was a bit smaller than expected and my second a bit bigger than expected.

I had an ultrasound every two weeks with my third daughter because of some growth issues. In the last 8 weeks of pregnancy I had an ultrasound which said my daughter was 6lb 4oz and I knew from previous scans this was way out so I went back and saw another radiographer and she measured again 3 days later and she measured 8lb 4oz. This seemed more like it as my daughter was expected to weigh just under 13lbs ouch! Luckily for me my daughter was born 5 weeks early and weighed 9lb 3oz so the second scan was correct. If you are unhappy with what you are being told ask for another scan. You know your own body.

My daughter was 9 lbs 5 ozs. and my second, my son was 7 lbs. 10 ozs. I thought he would be bigger too but the ultrasound said he would be close to 8 and he was. My daughters ultrasound said she'd be 91/2 to 10 and she was close to the lower end. My kids are now 20 and 17 so obviously was a while ago. Today's ultrasounds are much more clear and accurate. In the end, you'll know :)
