Hi! My princess is about 15p 8oz and was born with 5p 8 0z. She is very healthy and happy and my doc is not concerned, have any of you been through this? It's just that sometimes her weigh concerns me but she is a very good eater. People just think she is 6 months and not 11 :)

Hi all! My princess just turned 15 months in August 18th. I took her to her 15 month old appoint and she weighs 16.12, still tiny! She is still not walking but she is cruising like crazy and can't be sitting still, she is exploring everywhere. She is still in formula, doctor wants her to take formula until next appoint (18 months). Her height is in the 25% (29.5 inches) and her head in 51%. Her weigh doesn;t even show in the chart. But she is very healthy and happy and smart. I just don't understand why is she so tiny. Anybody has a small baby? hugs to all of you!

My pediatrician has always told me that babies should double their birth weight by 6 months and triple it by a year. By those standards, your little one seems to be right on track.

Hi Jolayne, my doctor is not concerned at all. She always asks me, does she look like a happy baby? Then, why are you so worried? But it's just that hearing ALL the time people everywhere saying oh she's so tiny makes me feel bad :( She was born at week 40 they had to induce me...so imagine week 40 with 5pounds 8 oz hehe but she has always been gaining, she turns one year old in May 18th :-)

Hi Jacklyn, yes she is. She takes her time though :) She started sitting at 6 months and crawling at 10 so I guess she's going to start walking around 14 or 15 months...:)

If your doctor isn't concerned and she's eatting then don't worry about it .
My adoptive daughter was 15 lbs at 9 months and about the size of a 3 month old and she is currently 28 lbs at 2 1/2 yrs .
Don't worry about what others think or say to you regarding your daughter you know she's healthy and your doctor isn't concerned then you have nothing to worry about she may just be small boned.

as long as she is healthy there is no problems with her being smaller... so many children nowadays are bigger (for example when i was working i was a photographer and there was a baby that weighed 36 lbs at 6months) but as long as they are eating and getting their nutrients and the doctor says they are healthy than i dont think there should be anything wrong... Is she progressing at the right milestones?
