I'm 39 weeks I have had a UTI for the last 7 weeks and the doctor keeps giving me antibiotics. I have been back again today and he has given me yet another week of tablets. I am concerned if I go into labor it may cause problems. Does anyone know if it does???

I don't think so. Many women who are pregnant, have strep b and need antibiotics during delivery. But ask your doctor to be on the safe side.

Then I would talk with the GP and tell them what the midwife said about natural labor and anti-biotics. They may be more inclined to speak with you about your concerns. let them know your midwife will not give you more information.

At the hospital I just see the midwives and then the doctor who been giving me the anti botics is just my gp, but this is where the problem is because the midwife don't seem to know what the doctors doing and so on. When I call her to check what the doctor said is ok and safe for baby I never get a reply.

Is there a doctor on staff you can talk with? I delivered through mid wives, and there was 1 doctor there. I also kinda had that option to, there were 5 mid wives, and i saw them all.

They really need to talk with you further about all this stuff.

You just get given who on duty at the time. I called yesterday and they told me it was my choice to take them or not but after 7 weeks I'm a little concerned for the baby.

That is terrible. Even scary. Is there another midwife in the office you can speak with? I mean, if you can never talk with her, what about when you go into labor?

I have tried to get hold of my midwife to find out more as I really don't want a section but as normal she never replies.

Really. Well that was nice of him not to explain that further. Sounds like he is already planning for you to have a c section. I would hound him for more information for sure.
