www.ican-online.org is another good resource for VBAC information. (International Ceserean Awareness Network)- they have local groups you can attend.

Your risk of uterine rupture (if you have a transverse scar) is about .25% if you begin labor spontaneously and receive no augmentation (cervidel, cytotec, pitocin).

I had a vbac and yes I did tear a little. I can't really compare it to having a c-section because I've never had one but if you have any questions feel free to message me. The recovery time wasn't long at all.

I had 2 vaginal deliveries then 3rd bub was emergency c-section. My 4th bub was 2 year later and I wanted a vbac. The doctor said the only reason I couldn't was if baby was breach. I went on to have a very successful vbac. I wish you all the best of luck and hope that you get your vbac.

Thanks for the advice ladies.
I'm really going to hope for a vbac because my c section wasnt elective and dont want to stay in the hospital for long...going to miss my other boy way too much, and will not be enjoyable at all.Its nice to know that the risks are actually less than c sections.

Thanks again.

I had a c-section that was unplanned and I feel that I missed the most wonderful part of giving labor which is being able to hold your baby right after birth. Instead I was so doped up I don't remember much, but so thankful we have a lot on video. I definitely want to try VBAC when I get pregnant again and there is a lot of good info about it, but some doctors won't do it so you might need to change doctors or get a midwife. Here are some sites about it:

http://www.americanpregnancy.org/labornb...

Hope that helps

Hi Laura,
It is safe to have a vbac unless your doctor says otherwise for reasons such as breach baby, baby too big, or if you have a condition that would prevent you from having a vaginal birth such as scoliosis, high blood pressure, or something else of the sort.

I have had 2 vaginal births but a friend of mine had twins by c-section, then a single vaginal delivery 5 years later and everything was fine. The scar will not rip open, the skin is very elastic. If you are not comfortable though, tell your doctor and perhaps he/she can schedule another c-section. Some hospitals refuse elective c-sections due to cost but perhaps the hospital you go to will do it.

Good luck!
