I will offer fresh uncooked veggies as part of a meal and let them choose. I also have snuck loads of veggies into their food without them knowing, I will post a link to one of the cookbooks I used. When it comes to getting your kids to eat what you made, it takes patience and repetition. Keep cooking that broccoli and put a small portion on your kid's plate. I do expect my kids to at least try new foods. If they ask for a sprinkle of shredded cheese on broccoli, I will comply as long as it gets them to try it. Having the kids come to the grocery store to help me choose the veggies and then have them wash and help prepare them helped too, I think having ownership of the process encourages them to follow the task to the end. Kids can't control a whole lot of things but they can control what they eat. So we have chosen to not make the dinner table a battle field. As long as they get something in, I let it go. Now my kids are older and will readily eat any veggie, raw or cooked except a few.

When my kids were little anything that had dip was worth eating. So fresh sugar snap peas or green beans, uncooked, with some ranch to dip them in or even broccoli (they like just the stem, not the 'tree' part) would be eaten. Cooked is was little trickier, but I buy frozen veggies and as weird as it may seem, the kids would eat frozen peas from the bag rather than cooked peas.

Ok, that definitely seems as that would work. They do like some veggies its just the greens that I cannot get them to eat without them whining.
