Very disappointed with circle of moms

I thought joining this site would help me feel less isolated as a new mom but it's made me feel worse. After posting at least 7 times, asking for some help, in hopes of a response, I've gotten mostly just silence. Am I alone here? Or are there other moms feeling this way?

Unfortunately the new lay out only allows for 3 new posts to appear at the top of the page at any given time. I apologize for the silence, but it was not to ignore anyone. It was strictly due to the fact that your posts may have gotten buried. Don't give up on this site, it can be a wonderful place. I will recommend going to the top of the page and go to communities. Search for different groups that strike your interests, and join them. Definitely look for groups that are active with posts.

Also, look for posts like you find interesting, or that you can help others in. Strike up conversation. You never know who you will meet here. I really hope you enjoy the site for all it is worth!

Hi Onetraeh, the community for fitness moms can be found if you go to "join communities" then under categories go to "fitness, health and diet" then there should be a list of different communities. I think the one i joined was "fit moms or moms that want to be fit" . I'm not really sure how active these forums are! lol I am just learning that even though there may be alot of members.. sometimes people dont post that often on the forums :)

I had a frustrating experience once with a forum for kids with asthma that looked as if it was active but turned out to be very very dead, so I know how irritating it is when you post and you really want or need help and support but don't get any.

If you don't seem to be getting any answers in a particular community, you can always consider posting the question in the Welcome section too. As you can see, there is always quite the mish-mash in here, so it wouldn't be out of place! You never know, someone might spot the post who can not only give you advice but direct you to a better community that might be more active.

I haven't seen the running moms or the moms that work out (and perhaps I should, because I'm a little chubby around the seams, hehe).

I completely agree with the other moms. Without knowing what you asked it's hard to say why no one answered. Sometimes other moms just don't have any experience and can't contribute, sometimes the community you post in is not active you can see from the other posts how long it's been since someone posted a question or someone answered, and sometimes questions just get lost in the sea of questions.

Hopefully you give it time, and just because you aren't getting responses to your questions doesn't mean you can't contribute to other posts and help other moms out with their questions.

What did you ask? Where did you ask it? It's often better to find the targeted community for your topic, such as preschoolers, but check that they have members and are active first as some are not.

It may also be something to do with what you asked or how you asked it, that people didn't feel that they had something worthwhile to contribute. Can you give an example here of your questions?

I can't remember what else I posted but it was just stuff about breastfeeding, work and fitness. Anyways it was just discouraging not getting a response and I'm thinking that perhaps I just need to give this some time and patience. I kinda just wanted to know that it didnt just happen to me. Thanks for letting me know that:)

Hi thanks for responding:)
well I've posted in working moms, breast feeding moms (which I'm very grateful because I got 2 replies), running moms, and moms that work out. Yes I definitely contribute to other moms questions and concerns amd try to be helpful where I can.
Maybe it's the way I've worded my questions ... I don't really know. For example I posted in working moms : how did u get your breastfed child ready for daycare? Also I posted in moms that work out: I asked if any moms held onto the last 10 lbs Until they weaned.

I have gotten that at times. It depends a lot on which community you post your questions in. Some, (such as "welcome to circle of moms") get a LOT of posts, and many of them get pushed to page 2, or page 3, etc. and people just don't look at them. Some other communities, don't have a lot of members and therefore don't have a lot of activity. I hope you will try to post in different communities, and stick around!
