My 8 year old daughter has been on vyvanse for 3 years. Other than the weight loss it seemed to work. Sleep has now become a huge issue and the past 6 months she has started with a nervous habit or ripping her clothes. It drives me crazy obviously because I can't afford to just constantly buy new clothes. Every time I ask her about it she says she's trying to stop but can't. Sleep is another huge issue, she goes to sleep but wakes up in the middle of the night and stays up for a couple of hours. Anyone else have these issues with Vyvanse?

And also the biting of the clothes....my older twin boy did that and they told me it was because the vyvance had worn off which made him chew clothes. So they gave him a 5mg aderrall to take about 1pm. He takes his vyvance at 630 am. I hope this helps

I have twin boys who are on vyvanse. Make sure and mention that to your Dr. I did and they put them on clonidine .01 mg at night and I have had no issues with sleep since. And this has been 5 years now. But if they refuse to do clonidine you can also try melatonin. Always start with just the 3mg and if it's not working slowly move her up. 5mg....and if that's not enough try 1 5mg and 1 3mg. And so on.
