My husband lost his cousin 9 months ago. We had just had a baby 3 weeks prior. I didn't feel comfortable leaving her with anyone so I went to the wake payed my respects and left after 15 min. My husband was fine with that but the in laws are now saying how disrespectful I was by not being there. Not to mention when the baby was born no one came to see us in the hospital. What's people's take on this.

LOL there have been issues with them for the last 5 or 6 years. What started it was the wedding planning and who was and was not in our wedding party. His one cousin sent nasty emails bringing this up 4 years after the fact and how important family is. My husband has been great and we decided together that I wouldnstay home with our 3 week old. She also went on to say that his sisters should be the most important thing to him. Family first is there motto. But I guess that doesn't include spouses or children.....lol

You WERE there, so I don't know what their issue is. And considering the fact that they didn't see you in the hospital, it looks like there's something going on. Are they normally otherwise polite to you? What is your husband's opinion on this?
