My husband will be deploying for the first time since we have been married, for a year. We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Any suggestions about what to send with Daddy for his year away, or ideas to make him feel special, loved and assured that he will be missed? It will be so difficult for us, but I know it will be difficult for him as well. As a mom, I want to support my children, and as a wife, I want my husband to feel supported and loved. I have lots of ideas to help my kids with the deployment, but have not found too much on what to do for my husband....and the bottle of wine is for me! LOL Just kidding! LOL :) Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!

How about put together a little book of drawings and love notes from the kids and yourself. Include things about why you love him and what makes him a special Daddy. Have at least 1 page with the children's handprints so he can "hold hands" with them while he is away.
Also include some photo's of everyone and get the kids to draw around them.

I don't know what else to to do as I have never been in that situation.

That is a good idea. I was going to do the photos, but the hand prints, notes and drawings are a good idea! Thanks a lot!! :)
