Hi Mommies!

So all of the older women in my family including my mom and also women in my husband's family are telling me to give my son water.....

I talked to my ped and she told me she wasnt for it but if i were to give it to my son it would need to be sugar water however still wasnt 100% ok even if we did it.

So mommies have you given your child water yet?...What was the effect and how did you make it?...if you did anything special to it...

My son is 3 months old with reflux and lactose intolerant.

Any advice?

Thanks! Lisa

I offered my daughter cooled boiled water without sugar from a few weeks old for the simple fact that she had pretty bad colic and would offer it if it was too soon for a feed but she never had much at any given time. I do believe stick to breastmilk/formula as the main drink for bub. I dont think kids should be given sugar water as there is no need for it and only gets them into the habit of having sweet things. Should point out that we live in a very hot tropic area and I started giving reg drinks from six-eight months.

Listen to your pediatrician and stick to formula and/or breastmilk. I don't think I offered my kids water till around 9 months.
