my sister in law wanted it kept quiet. My mother in law loved the birth mother and could not except this. After 2 years everyone knows everything, we are in such a bad position. To make it worse my husband is very impartial. My daughter is 30 she is private and they still can't leave well enough alone.

So what are you wanting advice about?
Why shouldn't the child know the truth? It's cruel for the child.

We adopted our daughter thirty years ago. My husbands sister's daughter was pregnant and wanted us to adopt her baby. The agreement was to not let anyone in the family know. My mother in law could not accept me as her mother. No one in the family could. We went to family functions and we had to keep an eye on our daughter.
The birth mother had no boundaries. Se was 16 when she gave birth.
When she was planning her wedding she asked our daughter without my husband and I knowing to be her brides maid.
We have one other adopted daughters and one natural daughter.
