My daughter is 16 months old and I need to wean her because of a medication I need to start taking. She nursing when she wakes up, for morning nap, midday nap, and to fall asleep after dinner, bath, and book. I am nervous I wont be able to do this on my own. I am a stay at home mother. I need to add this new medication for my epilepsy which my neurologist says it is safe to use, but I don't want to risk it. I need all the help I can get! My lactation consultant said to drop out one feeding each week until she is only nursing at bed time, then switch her routine. Dinner, Sippy cup, bath, book and lay her down for bed. Any helpful suggestions?!

Drop whichever feed she seems the least attached to (for my girls it was the morning nap) first.

Your lactation consultant has given you good advice... it's just a matter of doing it now.
