hmm well trying to start a healthy diet at 9 is a bit tougher. If you give examples of what she does eat then we can give alternative foods we can suggest. If nothing else in a few years her tastebuds will change a bit and will be more willing to try new foods. I found that my kids (right around the age of 11 or 12) were very adventurous when it came to food. They would try almost anything i offered them, including raw sushi.
Other than than do not fry anything (even frenchfries can be baked) always have veggies on their plate. Adding cheese to veggies isn't the end of the world. Yes they had cheese but they also get the goodness that is in the veggies.
