A baby is full term at 37-42 weeks. A due date is an estimate. E.D.C estimated date of confinement or E.D.D estimated due date. If your periods are regular and there isn't a question about when your last period is then that is pretty close estimate. Many Dr's do an early u/s to estimate the due date by size of the baby. The later that ultrasound is the less accurate because ultrasounds can be off. They too are an estimate and can be off up to 1-2 pounds -/+ in later pregnancy and unborn babies grow at different rates and have growth spurt just as born babies do.

If you had spotting that may be the accual date of conseption, when the egg attaches to the uterin wall it bleeds some. I had trouble with the due date too, they gave me three and wouldn't you know it my baby girl wasn't born on any of them. The closest was from the ultrasound and the one based on my last period was two weeks off. Hope this is helpful.

"i was reading that wen ur dry down thur ur not fertile"

Just a heads up, being 'dry down there' does NOT mean you are not fertile. You CAN still get pregnant.

it's like even I could've said pretty sure I'm not due for another couple of months.

when i was pregnant with my last child they told me my due date was in May of last 2012, i'm like that's not even humanly possible, lol she was then born in September. that's a 4 month difference. that's a HUGE difference in my E.D.D.

Just go with the flow Ericka. You're never going to know the exact date anyway because due dates aren't an exact science.

Ah, ok thanks. When did you have your first ultrasound and what did they say?

??? Your what was way later?

When it comes down to it, it is an estimated date only. You will never get an accurate date. It's one of those things you just have to suck up.

And that is WHY it is only an estimated due date.....your earliest ultrasounds are still the most accurate regardless of your ovulation.....

Well, it IS called and ESTIMATED due date for a reason......When I was pregnant with my daughter, the dues dates were constantly all over the place. The earliest ultrasound is generally the most accurate.
